My Final Refutation

A part of me feels great indignation towards those who push evolution as fact, but I also mourn for their deceived minds. Evolutionists and atheists alike seek to discredit and even eviscerate Christian Creationism, not any other religion’s views on origins unsurprisingly, through presenting their scientific findings and results. There is a deep pride and elitist mindset associated with these scientists as well.   Despite the fact that many assumptions are made and inaccurate methods are used, they feel as though they have figured everything out. I am fully aware of micro-evolution as a real evident part of science. A major example would be the development of drug resistance by bacteria. However, it is NOT guaranteed that micro-evolution leads to macro-evolution. Most Christians today do not have the skills and education in science to refute the findings of evolutionists. This is mainly because these people predominate the supermajority of the scientific community and the minority who are opposed would be ridiculed viciously if they publish anything contrary to the accepted norms. It can cause doubt among believers. I’m here to empower Christians with the evidence and arguments that dispel macro-evolution. Science is on our side, and think of the fact that it is a gift from God.

I started this blog on this very subject in my “Letters to Sam” posts. A final extended argument is needed. “You are the accidental by-product of nature, a result of matter plus time plus chance. There is no reason for your existence. All you face is death.” That is the hoax of evolution in a crude but factual statement of their theory. What probably sticks out the most is the word chance. The popular origin explanation known as the Big Bang theory is based on chance. A chance that is as likely as winning the lottery every single day for a year. Evolutionists will still cite that the 4 billion year period provided enough time for this to occur. I cite this example again along with new ones for the fallacy of carbon dating:

 “There is then a ratio of carbon-14 to carbon-12 in the bodies of plants, humans, and other animals that can fluctuate, but will be fixed at the time of death.  After death, the carbon-14 would begin to decay at the rate stated above.  In 1948, Dr. W.F. Libby introduced the carbon-14 dating method at the University of Chicago.  The premise behind the method is to determine the ratio of carbon-14 left in organic matter, and by doing so, estimate how long ago death occurred by running the ratio backwards.  The accuracy of this method, however, relies on several faulty assumptions. First, for carbon-14 dating to be accurate, one must assume the rate of decay of carbon-14 has remained constant over the years.  However, evidence indicates that the opposite is true.  Experiments have been performed using the radioactive isotopes of uranium-238 and iron-57, and have shown that rates can and do vary.  In fact, changing the environments surrounding the samples can alter decay rates.  The second faulty assumption is that the rate of carbon-14 formation has remained constant over the years.  There are a few reasons to believe this assumption is erroneous.  The industrial revolution greatly increased the amount of carbon-12 released into the atmosphere through the burning of coal.  Also, the atomic bomb testing around 1950 caused a rise in neutrons, which increased carbon-14 concentrations.  The great flood which Noah and family survived would have uprooted and/or buried entire forests.  This would decrease the release of carbon-12 to the atmosphere through the decay of vegetation. Third, for carbon-14 dating to be accurate, the concentrations of carbon-14 and carbon-12 must have remained constant in the atmosphere.  In addition to the reasons mentioned in the previous paragraph, the flood provides another evidence that this is a faulty assumption.  During the flood, subterranean water chambers that were under great pressure would have been breached.  This would have resulted in an enormous amount of carbon-12 being released into the oceans and atmosphere.  The effect would be not unlike opening a can of soda and having the carbon dioxide fizzing out.  The water in these subterranean chambers would not have contained carbon-14, as the water was shielded from cosmic radiation.  This would have upset the ratio of carbon-14 to carbon-12.  To make carbon-14 dating work, Dr. Libby also assumed that the amount of carbon-14 being presently produced had equaled the amount of carbon-12 – he assumed that they had reached a balance.  The formation of carbon-14 increases with time, and at the time of creation was probably at or near zero.  Since carbon-14 is radioactive, it begins to decay immediately as it’s formed.  If you start with no carbon-14 in the atmosphere, it would take over 50,000 years for the amount being produced to reach equilibrium with the amount decaying.  One of the reasons we know that the earth is less than 50,000 years old is because of the biblical record.  Another reason we can know this is because the amount of carbon-14 in the atmosphere is only 78% what it would be if the earth were old. Finally, Dr. Libby and the evolutionist crowd have assumed that all plant and animal life utilize carbon-14 equally as they do carbon-12.  To be grammatically crass, this ain’t necessarily so.  Live mollusks off the Hawaiian coast have had their shells dated with the carbon-14 method.  These test showed that the shells died 2000 years ago!  This news came as quite a shock to the mollusks that had been using those shells until just recently.”

The following statement is from evolutionist William Stansfield, Ph.D., California Polytech State: It is obvious that radiometric techniques may not be the absolute dating methods that they are claimed to be. Age estimates on a given geological stratum by different radiometric methods are often quite different (sometimes by hundreds of millions of years). There is no absolutely reliable long-term radiological “clock.”

Regarding radiocarbon dating, Dr. G. E. Aardsma, Chairman of the Astro/Geophysics Dept. of the ICR Graduate School, had this to say: At the present time it appears that the conventional radiocarbon dating technique is on relatively firm ground for dates which fall within the past 3,000 years.

Today the population grows at 2% per year. If we set the population growth rate at just 0.5% per year, then total population reduces to zero at about 4500 years ago. If the first humans lived 1,000,000 years ago, then at this 0.5% growth rate, we would have 10^2100 (ten with 2100 zeroes following it) people right now. If the present population was a result of 1,000,000 years of human history, then several trillion people must have lived and died since the emergence of our species. Where are all the bones? And finally, if the population was sufficiently small until only recently, then how could a correspondingly infinitesimally small number of mutations have evolved the human race?

Many of God’s critics, being willingly unaware of the benefits of the water canopy, have ridiculed the tremendously long lives of those who lived before Noah’s flood, before the end of the water canopy. Methuselah, the oldest Bible man who ever lived, reached the ancient age of 969 years. The average pre-Noah lifespan was 911 years, or 13 times longer than we live today. Imagine living in a perfect tropical atmosphere: perfect air, perfect water, perfect diet, without harmful effects from the sun. The obvious result would be a long, long, healthy life — 13 times longer. The famed historian, Flavius Josephus, who wrote just after Christ’s life here on the earth, recorded the life span of the ancients reaching up to 1,000 years. He refers directly to ancient historians such as Manetho, Berosus, Mockus, Hestiaeus, Hieronymus, Hesiod, Hecataeus, Hellanicus, Acusilaus, Ephorus, and Nicolaus, who attest to these phenomenal life spans. The pre-Noah water canopy is central to the explanation of what has perplexed many about the idea of a young, 6,000-year-old earth and what happened to the dinosaurs. The dinosaur is a reptile and it does something that we can’t do: it never stops growing. In ’A Field Guide to Reptiles and Amphibians,’ which is part of the Peterson Field Guide Series, sponsored by the National Audubon Society and National Wildlife Federation, I found the following statement: Size: Reptiles and amphibians may continue to grow as long as they live, rapidly at first but more slowly after maturity. Hence, giant specimens may be encountered on very rare occasions. The older it is, the bigger it gets. Note, before the water canopy was eliminated, the average lifespan was 13 times longer than it is today. Remember, the air was pure, the water clean, and diet near perfect. There were no harmful rays from the sun and the lifespan was 13 times longer. Consider the present-day Chinese Iguana that grows as large as 12 feet long. Suppose before the flood, in a near perfect environment, the iguana would have lived 13 times longer, and because it never stops growing, would become 13 times bigger. That Chinese Iguana would be 156 feet long and about three stories tall. Dinosaur — terrible lizard. The dinosaur is simply a giant lizard which was created by God in the same six-day span as man.

The timeline of evolution is not as sound as people might claim and indoctrinate the masses with. Back to the word chance, think of the complexity of the universe. How is it chance that has the earth positioned at a singular proper distance from the sun? If we were any closer we would burn up, and any further away we would freeze. How is it possible that a major entropic event could produce the amount of order and complexity we see all around us today? The most basic unit of life referred to as a cell has more than 1000 different components. Ever since the beginning our genetic code continues to degenerate. Evolution is one dimensional in that it only posits about life. It would be difficult to account for the various forces such as electricity, magnetism, gravity, light, and energy without considering that they had to have been created somehow. The majority of matter on the earth is inorganic. Half of our body is made up of water: an inorganic molecule. Where does water come from? The other interesting part of living matter is proteins. Take a look at this explanation:

 First, there are over 300 different types of amino acids. However, only 20 different amino acids are used in life. This means that in order to have life, the selection process for building proteins must be very discriminating. Second, each type of amino acid molecule comes in two shapes commonly referred to as left-handed and right-handed forms. Only left-handed amino acids are used in biological proteins; however, the natural tendency is for left- and right-handed amino acid molecules to bond indiscriminately. When there is more than one possible outcome and the outcome is not predetermined, probability can become a factor. In the case of evolution there is no pre-assigned chemical arrangement of amino acids to form a protein. Therefore, the formation of a biological protein is based on random chance. Scientists know today that it is only because of the instructions (information) in DNA that only left-handed amino acids are linked in the proper order.

As you can see, for proteins to exist it requires instructions not chance. This leads into my final topic of similarities. The evolutionists observe all of these similarities in animals and believe it means that some species are ancestors of others. The classic example is monkeys and humans. Somehow they have yet to find clear complete transitional fossils between monkeys and humans. The elusive or non-existent “missing links” have yet to be found. So scientists use the concept of “vestigial organs” to draw connections between different types of animals. The only case where vestigial organs aren’t a hoax is serpents. God declared that serpents would have their legs taken away and be forced to crawl on the ground. Scientists can accurately see where legs would have once existed on snakes. Here are some examples:

 The assertion that these bones are hip bones or a pelvis is a mystical claim.  Thus Coyne’s defense that whale “hip” bones are truly vestigial remnants invokes mysticism. ICR’s Brian Thomas provided an excellent synopsis on the whale bone research.  He described the problems with seeing these bones as evolutionary adaptations.  He offered a better explanation of bones designed for a specific purpose. The bones in the lower abdomen in some whales do not connect to other bones but are embedded in several muscles.  Bone provides a firm anchor for other structures that are manipulated by these muscles.  It seems that these bones may be vital for extremely large bodies to mate in a fluid environment.  Similarly, many animals and also humans have a bone called the hyoid in their neck region.  It also is affixed only by muscles above and below it.  The hyoid provides a firm anchor for these muscles to help manipulate the tongue, larynx, and pharynx.  Both the hyoid and whale abdominal bones are a good design solution for the movement of accessory structures.

 Commonly removed organs such as tonsils and the appendix which were deemed as useless are now known to have very real value. It’s now known that the appendix is a gland that removes poisons from the body and that the tonsils also remove poisons and secrete needed iodine into the system.

The tailbone or coccyx has often been presumed to be vestigial and a leftover remnant to our alleged mammal and reptilian ancestors who also had tails. Evidence that is cited includes the variable number of bony segments humans can have (usually 4 but can be 3 or 5) as well as “babies born with tails.” But these so called tails are not really tails at all and instead are a type of fatty tumor. There are no bones or muscles in them at all, and thus, it cannot truly be considered a vestigial organ. Spinney acknowledges that the coccyx now has a “modified function, notably as an anchor point for the muscles that hold the anus in place.” In fact, the coccyx is the anchor point for the muscles that form the entire pelvic diaphragm. Therefore, while the coccyx has a clear function in humans today, the only reason to claim that the function has been modified is because of evolutionary assumptions. If you believe that humans descended from animals that possessed tails, then there must have been a modification of the tailbone. In contrast, if our ancestor Adam was created by God then there was no modification, and our tailbone is just as it always was. Without the evolutionary presupposition, the evidence that the tailbone is vestigial evaporates.

These are just a few examples of countless others. If the similarities are not a result of evolution, then what is the cause? It lies in DNA. There are only 4 bases or letters that make up the entire genetic code of living organisms: adenine, guanine, cytosine, and thymine. With that simple fact, I don’t see how it would take anything more than common sense to recognize that with only 4 bases to create all of life, there will be countless similarities in nature.

There is so much more information that can be presented to counter evolutionary theory, but I will stick with these main points regarding chance, time, and matter. My fellow Christian brothers and sisters, use this knowledge to empower each other and reassure each other that science is on our side. The evidence of creation is all around us if we open our eyes to it. For those who reject creation still, I ask you to reconsider. I also ask you this simple question, “What is the purpose of life?” Because viewing life has an atheist/evolutionist has no real meaning. That’s not to be rude. It is a simple fact. All you face is a temporary life, then death. There is no “Why” associated with your lives. I pray you open your eyes and hearts to the truth. God bless you all.

But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear (1 Peter 3:15).

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:4–5).
